About Me

Hello! My name is Marissa Utterberg, but my students call me Miss U.  I have been a camp counselor, outdoor school instructor, swim teacher, swim coach, basketball coach, and lacrosse coach.  Teaching is one of my passions and I am excited to take my energy and experiences into the classroom.

"You're not a teenager?" Though I can act like a big kid at times, I am an adult. Look!  They gave me a degree and everything:

I earned my bachelor of science in Mathematics at Pacific University in Oregon, where I grew up.  Since then, I have been living in Southern California.  Though I miss the ocean, I am happy to be exploring the beautiful Wasatch Front.  Rivers, rocks, trees, fields - I love to play in the out-of-doors!  In my free time (What free time?) you can find me running, climbing, canoeing, kayaking, camping, reading, cooking, napping, at the library, or at the gym.

Also, I'd like to acknowledge Dr. Brewer of Utah State University for inspiring this (hopefully) ongoing endeavor.
